Beauty Tips

I wear my hair natural. Which means I don't relax my hair aka chemically straighten my hair. I've been natural since I was 21. A year ago I BC #2 (Big Chop)again due to not properly caring for my hair. I promised myself I'd never do that to my hair if grew back.During my days as natural I was huge PJ(Product Junkie)buying products I necessarily didn't truly need. Now I don't use any commercial products at all. I only have one commercial product in my apartment. It's very rare that I use unless I remember that I have it around. Most of the items I use in my hair are plant based or kitchen pantry items(camellia oil,water,apple cider vinegar,oils,essential oils,rice/rose water,etc).I am obessed with wooden hair tools(combs,brushs,hair pins)I use a wooden comb&wooden pic in my hair

1)Wooden Combs For Beautiful,Gorgeous Hair:Japanese Women pay particular attention to their hair and prefer to use special,handmade wooden combs. When those tiny pores on wooden comb catches the natural oil that your scalp glands produce & distribute it along the length of the hair. This helps to keep the hair well moisturized,strong and healthy. It could become extra shiny as well due to using a wooden com.

2)Benefits Of Rice Water On SkinRice water is moisturizing to the skin, It can also help fade/prevent age spots,has healing properties that can improve circulation.Geisha's would wash their faces with boiled-down rice water..It's an old trick to keep the skin bright and fair. Rice water helps your skin's elasticity,evens out skin-tone,smooth texture. Rice water slowly lighten the complexion. Rice water is the original skin brighter

3)Benefits Rice Water On HairRice water has great hair benefits. A study results were that rice water shown certain improvements in the hair such improving hair elasticity and decreasing surface friction. Rice water has inositol which is a carbohydrate that can repair damaged hair and protect hair from being damaged. Inositol stays inside the hair even after rinsing. Washing/Rinsing your hair with rice water shall protect it from damage and improve manageability. Rice water has amino acids which can strengthen the roots and add volume and sheen to the hair.Rice water is very moisturizing. 

4)Rosewater: Rose water was first made by chemists in the Islamc Golden Age as a beverage and perfume. Rose water acts as a conditioner and promotes hair growth. Gives the hair a full moisturizing effect when used on the hair.The anti-septic property can help reduce inflammation in the scalp. Rose water can help stimulate the circulation of the blood. Which helps revitalize the hair and making it naturally strong&healthy on the inside. Rose water has anti-bacterial and anti-septic and stimulating properties.Anti-bacterial property helps to reduce the dandruff in the scalp and gives a boost to the hair. Roe water can give a mild natural fragrance to the hair.Instead of a fake chemical filled fragrance.

5)Benefits Of Using Cold Water On Hair:Many people think cold hair rinse or cold final rinse is a lie or a complete myth. There are many,many benefits to using cold water on your final rinse after washing the hair. Natural detoxification. Slows down oil production or oil production is minimized. Maintains natural hydration. Energize/jump-starts up hair health&shine. Tightens the cuticle layer. Encourages/Cultivate stronger hair. Could/May slow down hair loss. Prevents/ frizz while also adding luster/ to hair. 

6)Japanese Hair:Japanese ladies use seaweed powder to cleanse their hair. They don't use synthetic,chemical filled shampoos that american women use way too often. Which is at the expense of the hair's health. To moisturize their hair Japanese ladies rub tsubaki/camellia oil into their locks. Camellia/Tsubaki oil works best on wet hair.

7)Oils To Improve/Enhance Your Hair's Health: Castor=proves growth.Jojoba=Acts As A Cleanser. Coconut=Reduces Keratin Erosion. Olive=Fatty Acid Rich. Rice Brand=Protein Rich. Peppermint=Anti-Bacterial. Avocado=Vitamin E Rich.

8)Scalp Massage: Massage your scalp daily. Massage your scalp with natural oils(coconut oil, sweet almond,etc)

9)Maximum Time Amount Needed Deep Condition: It takes approximately up to thirty minutes for a conditioner to fully penetrate the hair shaft. There are truly no benefits to leaving conditioner on any longer than 30 minutes.

10)Extras Add On Condition:   Green Tea: Promotes shiny hair,reduces shedding,hair growth.  Honey:Extra moisture and shine,brings back life and color to hair. Oils:coconut oil,olive oil,jojoba oil,vitamin e,ect add moisture and shine to hair and it gives the conditioner more slip as well. Aloe Vera Gel/Juice:For moisture and shine. Castor Oil:To add thickness.
11)Aloe Vera Gel/Juice: All natural gel that gives a mild hold,no flakes/heavy build-up,water soluble and that equals easy to wash it out of the hair. Increases the blood circulation going to the hair follicles. Aloe vera has anti inflammatory & antimicrobial properties. Anti inflammatory can ease inflammation. Antimicrobial aids to kill bacteria. AVG(aloe vera gel)can improve scalp dryness & itchiness.It does all of that by moisturize the scalp/hair, It can act like humectant(in the correct weather) which draws moisture from the air.The pectin and sugar molecules in aloe vera can help to offer the hair moisture.Amino acids & the tiny quantity of protein(lectin)in aloe vera can reinforce damaged hair. Aloe vera juice/gel is 90%-99.5% of water & also holds fatty acids, minerals ,enzymes, amino acids & vitamins.

12)Avoid Brushes:Steer clear of brushes they can tug and shred the hair. If you want use a brush. Try a boar bristle brush. They're generally gentle on all types of hair. Especially kinky,cottony hair due to it's fragile nature and easy to having breakage.

13)Moisturize: Moisturize and sealing is hugely important for afro textured,cottony textured hair. Due to the sebum does not freely travel down our hair. Due to very tightness of the curls unlike women with straight/wavy hair or european curls whose sebum travels freely. Moisturizing is crucial to length retention. Water is the fundamental moisturizer. Use any water based product to moisturize. Next use your best-loved butter or oil to seal the moisture in the hair.

14)Smoking Restrict Hair Growth: Cigarettes can make the hair have unwelcoming smell . It's been proven that it also cause hair loss over a long amount of time A study found that smoking can escalate baldness. Especially if baldness runs in a family. Cigarette smoke can make the hair mushy and increase breakage of the hair. The smoke can have an immediate impact on the hair follicle. Cigarette is notorious for consisting of more than 4,000 deadly and destructive chemicals.Which can cause tons of health issues and problems including possible death from smoking cigarettes
